How to Check a Lottery Ticket Online Without Sharing Your Numbers
Compare your ticket with the official results in a minute, and keep the ticket itself private.

The quickest way to check a lottery ticket online is to match three things: the game, the draw date printed on the ticket, and your numbers. If all three line up with the published result, you have a winning line. You do not need to upload a photo of the ticket or send your numbers to anyone to find that out.
LotteryCorner's Check my numbers tool compares the numbers you type with published drawings. The comparison happens in your browser, and the tool never tells you a ticket has won. That last part matters, because only the lottery can confirm a prize.
Before you start
Find the draw date on the ticket, not the date you bought it. A ticket bought on Sunday for Monday's Powerball drawing is checked against Monday's numbers. Multi-draw tickets list every drawing they cover.
Check which game the ticket is for. Games with similar names, such as a state Lotto and Lotto America, have different drawings and different results.
Step by step
- Open the results page for your game, or the Check my numbers tool.
- Pick the same draw date that is printed on your ticket.
- Enter each line of numbers exactly as printed, including any bonus number such as the Powerball or the Mega Ball.
- Compare the bonus number separately. In Powerball, matching only the red Powerball still wins a prize. Numbers from different lines on the same ticket cannot be combined.
- Note any add-on you paid for, such as Power Play or Double Play. Those change the prize, not which numbers count.
If it looks like a winner
Sign the back of the ticket and keep it somewhere safe. A lottery ticket is a bearer instrument, which means whoever holds it can try to claim it.
Then have the ticket confirmed. A licensed retailer can scan it, or you can use your state lottery's official app or claim process. The lottery's own validation is the only answer that counts for payment.
A common mistake
People often post a photo of a winning ticket to celebrate. Do not share any image that shows the barcode or serial number. Those are what the lottery uses to identify the ticket, and a clear photo can help someone else attempt a claim.
