Comparing jackpots without pretending the games are the same
Discussion · Bec ·
I enjoy comparing Australian and US jackpot runs, but headline size is only one piece. Ticket price, odds, annuity, tax and currency all change the picture. If LotteryCorner made a comparison, what column would you put first?

Put the product and jurisdiction first, because two games can share a name without sharing rules. Then show ticket price in local currency, jackpot odds, overall odds, draw schedule and the official source date.
For the money columns, label whether the headline is an annuity or cash amount, whether tax is included or excluded, whether a cash option exists, and the exchange rate timestamp. Keep lower-tier prizes separate. That makes the comparison useful without suggesting that an Australian ticket, a US ticket and an outcome wager are interchangeable.
