Old scratch games still sitting in the store display

Discussion · Mel ·

Sometimes I see a game I thought ended months ago still in the case. I never know if sales ended, claims ended, or I just remembered wrong. Before buying an older game, what official page do you check?

There are three different dates: the game can stop being sold, a second-chance entry window can close, and winning tickets can have a later final claim date. Search by the printed game number on the issuing lottery's official ended-games page; the name alone is not reliable.

California says an ended Scratcher can no longer be bought, while a winning ticket is generally claimable for 180 days after the announced end date and the second-chance deadline is listed separately. If a retailer still displays a game shown as ended, ask the retailer to verify it rather than buying first and sorting it out later.
