With the recent wave of events, it is surprising to receive notification of the changes to starting jackpot amount and minimum jackpot increases.
The Lotto America Product Group is a collective association of 13 lotteries - URBANDALE, Iowa. The group has just enacted certain changes in the game rules in order to maintain the integrity and payment of prizes in the Lotto America® game.
Effective from the June 13 drawing, the Product Group will have the authority to fix the starting jackpot amount and jackpot increases between drawings depending on sales and interest rates. Since the rule changes will officially be observed in this new month, the Product Group does not expect any changes to the present $2 million starting jackpot or minimum $50,000 jackpot increases, for now.
According to the Lotto America Product Group Chair and Oklahoma Lottery Director, Rollo Redburn, he said, “The rule changes were adopted proactively to provide flexibility to the Product Group and alignment with other draw games. We still plan on having the Lotto America jackpot reset to $2 million after the next Grand Prize winner.”
Right now, we can report that the Lotto America tickets are sold for $1 per play. Tickets are being sold in 13 states. These states are: South Dakota, Minnesota, Delaware, Iowa, Montana, West Virginia, North Dakota, Maine, New Mexico, Iowa, Oklahoma, Kansas, Idaho, and Tennessee. The game drawings will take place every Wednesday night and Saturday night.
