About Delaware (DE) Lottery

Officially run by the government of Delaware, it is now in’s 43rd year. Created with the authorization by the state legislature, the Delaware lottery also known as the DE lottery offers a variety of its traditional games. Started on May 31, 1974, the Delaware lottery has been running successfully with a large player base. In addition to the seven types of draw games, Delaware lottery also offers Video lottery, Sports wagering, and Keno. Under Federal law, only four jurisdictions are permitted to legally provide the sports wagering, of which the Delaware lottery is one. The three other jurisdictions are Montana, Nevada, and Oregon.

Until 1992, the Delaware lottery offered a wide variety of sports gambling but, in August 2009, a federal court has brought down the limit to NFL parlays. Delaware has three racetrack casinos which are also known as racinos. Legislation was introduced and approved to legalize table games that are Lottery-owned in January 2010. A player must be 18 or older to play the Delaware lottery. Likewise, a player is able to play the video lottery and sports betting only as long as they’re 21 or older. To buy tickets at Delaware’s liquor stores, the person must be 21 or older as there’s no entry for the underage people.

Draw games offered by the Delaware Lottery:

Delaware Lottery currently offers several in-house draw games that are famous among the crowds dues to their exciting and entertaining game rules.

  • Play 3

A fairly common lottery game, Play 3 is a numbers game that involves three-digit playing style. The drawings are performed twice a day, one time in the day and one time at the night.

  • Play 4

A very similar game to the play 3, this games is played in 4-digit style. The day drawing takes place at 1:58 PM from Monday to Saturday. It can be played up to 1:40 PM. The night drawings occur at 7:57 PM on all days except Sunday. The Play 4 can be played up to 7:30 PM.

  • Multi-win Lotto

This game is played only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. $50,000 is the beginning range of the cash jackpot. Players need to pick 6 DE lottery winning numbers from 1 to 35 to win the DE lotto. The price of each game is $2, which involves three lines of play. There are two ways to win prizes, one is the classic way and the other is through the Combined play.

  • Keno

Delaware keno which has been playing since 2013 is a very popular lottery game among the players among Delaware lottery player base. It is drawn as often as for every few minutes.

  • Much higher prizes ranging from $5,001 upwards should be claimed in person at the Delaware Lottery Office on any business day within the working hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. You are required to present a photo identity card with your name and address as well as your social security card.

Mail-in Claim
  • Winners can mail winning tickets worth $599 or less to the Delaware Lottery Office in order to claim their prizes.

  • To claim your prize via mail, you are required to write your name and address legibly on the back of the ticket. Thereafter, the Lottery shall mail a check for your prize money to you.

  • Tickets claimed by mail will be processed within 15 days.
