About Maine (ME) Lottery

With a voter referendum approval, Maine Lottery was founded in 1974. It is run by the Maine government. Maine Lottery which is also known as ME Lottery is a member of the Multi-State Lottery Association. In 1990, ME lottery has joined the MUSL, but pulled out in 1992 after the Powerball was introduced. Maine Lottery joined the MUSL again in 2004. Hot Lotto which is a jackpot game is Maine’s first continuing draw game which is drawn through a random number generator instead of traditional lottery balls.

On October 13, 2009, an agreement was made to make Mega millions and Powerball available to the players through any US Lottery. ME Lottery started selling Maine mega millions on May 9, 2010. Maine offers a wide variety of online draw games in which the smallest games are offered by the Tri-State Lottery. Over $2.2 billion has been paid to the Maine Lottery winners in the form of rewards and prizes since the inception of Maine Lottery. The ME Lottery has a wide network of retailers all across the state, who benefits from selling the Maine Lottery tickets. ME Lottery is a solid source of income to the state fund.

In-House Tri-State games offered by the ME Lottery:

The ME Lottery is currently offering a wide variety of several draw games along with a few other multi-jurisdictional games.

  • Pick 3

This game can be played on every day of the week including Sundays. The game is drawn two times a day from Monday through Saturday. On Sundays, the game is drawn only once. The game offers two draws a day, once in the day and once at the night. The Player must pick the right Maine lottery winning numbers in order to win.

  • Pick 4

An identical game to the Pick3, this game is played very similarly. Pick 4 is drawn in conjunction with the Pick 3. Drawn twice a day and 13 times a week, this game is very simple to play. The player needs to choose the right Maine lottery numbers to win.

  • Megabucks Plus

This game’s format is similar to the Maine Mega Millions and Maine Powerball. Began in 1985 as tri state Megabucks, it used to be played in the classical six number game until July 2009. The game is drawn every Wednesday and Saturday. The draw involves the drawing of 5 regular numbers from a set of 41 and one number from a set of 6. The price of this game is $2 each. The jackpot starts from $1 million. This is a highly exciting game among the tri state lotteries.

ME Lottery offers several types of multi-jurisdictional games such as Mega Millions, Lucky for Life, Powerball, and Hot Lotto. Lucky for Life came into existence after replacing a former tri state weekly grand lottery game.
